From the NY Post comes the story of Gary Sheffield's wife who was blackmailed
by a "self-styled Chicago minister Derrick Mosley"

November 18, 2004 -- Yankee slugger Gary Sheffield hit a home run for his family as he gallantly supported his wife against a blackmailer who threatened to destroy her with humiliating sex tapes, the base ball hero's mother- in-law told The Post yesterday.
"It's hard for a mother-in- law to say good things about her son-in- law, but I must say, 'God bless his soul,' " said Debbie Richards, the mom of Sheffield's gos pel-singing wife, DeLeon. "He is the most awesome young man."

Richards says she's proud of how the Bronx Bomber worked to bring charges against the alleged blackmailer, who is accused of threatening to release two steamy videotapes purporting to show the now 28-year-old DeLeon in a three-way sex romp with R&B lothario R. Kelly and an unidentified woman.

What kind of "minister" demands $20,000 for a 10 year old sex tape and where can I get a copy?

Way to spice up a soccer game

CHISINAU, Moldova - The chairman of a Moldovan soccer team became so incensed when a penalty kick was awarded to the opponent that he drove his car onto the field and tried to run over the referee.

I am not a big fan of soccer but something like this could get me to tune in more often.

New idea for a pool

Either they think that they have enough uranium for a few bombs or they have no intention of honoring this agreement.

Any takers?

You have got to be kidding

You don't know whether to laugh or cry when you see something like this.

I like the Overlawyered site but it really makes me wonder about the future of the Republic after reading of some of these lawsuits.

Get over yourself

Hey Andrew I am sorry to burst your bubble but a hell of a lot of people that I know voted for Bush because of the War. Gay marriage is not that big of a deal to a lot of us and for you to think that is what drove most people to the polls to vote for Bush shows a breathtaking lack of understanding of the country.

Update: Maybe he needs to read this

Europe Allies??

Maybe it's me but calling France & Germany "Allies" seems to be a bit much given their actions of the past couple of years.

Too bad the networks didn't have crews spending the day with Chirac, Schroeder & Zapatero. Those films would be worth big bucks on Americans funniest videos.

Wait for the Bodies to get cold

I was listening to some of the talking heads this evening and already speculation has started on who will get the ax or bail out on the second term. I guess the lack of lawsuits or a protracted count-recount battle must be killing them. The guys on the BBC channel seemed to have nothing to live for now that Kerry had conceded.

All over

Now that the election appears to be decided how long until we hear all about St. Hillary becoming the presumptive democratic canditate in 2008? And how badly will the networks try to push her down the rest of the country's throat?

UPDATE: It has already starrted, Entertainment Tonight had a poll asking if the country was ready for a woman President.

Voting

I hit the voting booth early this morning as I didn't want to be stuck in any lines later on. Traffic was brisk even though it was early. The 4 people working the tables didn’t inspire a lot of confidence, they seemed to be stressed out and the pools had only been open for ½ hour, should be quite interesting later on if things get really busy.
