Thoughts on a Simple/Simplistic Observation

I agree to a certain extent to the point That Jen makes here. I believe that this election needs to be decided by a significant margin for a number of reasons. What I disagree with is the contention that

The right hates Clinton. They wanted him out, and some of them were willing to do anything to make that happen.

I don’t ever remember the attacks on Clinton reaching the same lows as of those that I have seen from the left on Bush recently. The cover of the current Village Voice is a perfect example. Maybe it’s me but I also seem to remember that a fair amount of accusations against Clinton were proven to be true. The stuff that I have seen against Bush appears to be far more personal and baseless.

When Bush's impeachment proceedings are underway and Laura Bush is being called a dyke, we'll talk.

And being depicted as a vampire sucking the blood out of the Statue of Liberty is not worse? And remember that Bill Clinton was impeached for lying under oath and was disbarred for his actions.

I tend to agree with Pete here. There were crazies who hated President Clinton as much as today's crazies hate President Bush, but they weren't central to the Republican Party.
